Ronald J BOWMAN, born Q2-1915 [Newmarket 3b:606], the son of Frederick and Elizabeth BOWMAN (née KNIGHT) of Cotton End, Exning. He married Dorothy Ruby BROWN of Newmarket in Q2-1938.

In the 1939 register, at Cotton End, Exning were his father Frederick W [19-10-1882] widower, racehorse studman, brother Douglas T [24-1-1909] racehorse studman and Air Raid Precautions warden, sister in law Audrey E [4-6-1910] and their son Peter D BOWMAN [24-11-1930]. It seems that his mother died in 1931. Dorothy has not been identified in this register


The 13th August 1944 was the day Florence was captured by the Allies. The Buffs were the first to enter the city.
Originally temporarily buried AC/AGR/2020/22 GRU, he was re-interred in Florence War Cemetery on 26th February 1945
